Hiking the San Tan Mountain

My wife and I have annual passes to get access to all of the Maricopa County Parks.  Since we live in the South East Valley, pretty much at the base of the San Tan Mountain, we decided to make this a weekly hike when the weather is awesome in AZ like now.

San Tan Mountain has great access for everyone! You can hike, bike, ride a horse, and even bring your dogs for the adventure. (please bring enough water for everyone including pets) The first trail we took was about 4 miles all together and relatively flat but was a great hike with great views. Trail 2 was about 2 miles round trip but that went up to one of the peaks where you can see downtown Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, San Tan Valley, and Queen Creek.

See the short Vlog below to get a better idea of the Park, and the link to see other parks you can visit for the annual pass instead of paying about $5 to park.
